How to save money renovating kitchens and bathrooms

If you’re looking to undertake a renovation job then chances are the kitchen and bathrooms will be on your ‘to do’ list. These are ‘make or break’ rooms in a property if you’re looking to sell it or rent it out for a great price.

But just because you need a quality outcome doesn’t mean you have to pay a premium price. Here are a few ideas that can give you a winning finish without the hefty price tag:

REJUVENATE THE KITCHEN CABINETS - Timber, laminate and two-pac polyurethane finished cabinets can be painted over if they are structurally sound. Alternatively, you can have new doors, kickboards and drawer panels installed in a selection of designer materials. Don’t forget to add modern door knobs and handles.

REPLACE KITCHEN SPLASHBACKS - Stainless steel splashbacks can be installed directly over existing tiles. Replacing tiled splashbacks with colour backed toughened safety glass.

RESURFACE THE BATHROOM - Often by resurfacing the tiles and bath with spray on enamel, replacing or adding a shower screen and updating the vanity you can create a designer look bathroom for around half the cost of gutting it and starting from scratch.
